Where can fever screenings be used sensibly?
The use of body heat measuring cameras makes sense wherever large gatherings of people are encountered, such as at the entrance or waiting areas of office buildings, public amenities, and transport hubs. Measuring forehead temperature using handheld devices from the distance of one meter is time-consuming and can threaten the safety of the personnel. Thermal cameras can, therefore, help wherever manual measurement is not safe or efficient due to time constraints If a certain limit value is exceeded, the camera sounds an alarm and sends a notification to the remote operator or its department.
At the majority of Asian airports, fever screening has long been part of routine life. To stem the spread of coronavirus, more and more countries are introducing fever screening at their airports, including the USA. At border crossings, for example from Germany to the Czech Republic, fever screening is now part of everyday security measures against COVID-19.
